‘Tis the Season of Giving Back
Yes, ’tis the season of giving back. Christmas isn’t only about giving and receiving gifts; it’s also about doing good in the world. Giving back is part of the culture at Berger Hargis. It’s in our backbone. For 30 years, we’ve offered our help to the community and beyond. It’s bonded our employees as teammates and strengthened our reputation. Besides, it feels good.
‘Tis the Season of Giving Back
As listed below, Berger Hargis has done all seven ways to give back. However, this post isn’t about Berger Hargis. It’s about you and the business you work in. You can give back whether you’re a solopreneur, a small business, or part of a corporate conglomerate. Here are seven ways any business can give back.
7 Ways to Give Back
Pro Bono
Usually thought of as a legal term, pro bono means “Denoting work undertaken for the public good without charge.” At Berger Hargis, we’ve donated landscaping to help charities, the less privileged, and others. What product or service can you donate?
Sponsor
We sponsor events all year long. Occasionally, we’re the lone sponsor, but more often, we’re an associate sponsor. Our contributions range from financial to donated products to offering a helping hand through volunteers.
Employee Volunteers
At Berger Hargis, we have a fun committee, and one of the things we find fun and fulfilling is helping others. I personally have helped at a pet shelter, participated in a cancer fundraiser, and organized a holiday toy drive and a blood drive. I did this at several businesses, all of which allowed me the time to organize the events.
Support local
Sponsor local youth league sporting teams and give to local charities. One example I’ve embraced is an annual Backpack Attack, a school supply drive to benefit local school children.
Spread the word
Not a month goes by that we don’t promote and support charitable initiatives. It only takes a moment to post on social media and can make a difference.
Ask Employees
Learn what your employees are passionate about and offer to match their commitment.
Are You Giving Back Enough?
So, are you giving back enough? If not, why not? Here’s our challenge for you. Choose one or two of the actions listed above and make it happen next year. Why should you? Because it will solidify your team and add to your standings in the community, and it just feels good. Now, go make it happen. Merry Christmas!
How Can We Help You?
Berger Hargis has a company philosophy of providing personal excellence for all our services. Our growth and success have been due entirely to our commitment to honest, excellent customer service. The company is built on the referral business we have received due to this philosophy.
So, if we can answer any questions about landscaping, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us.
